Since I was a little girl, I have been scratching my skin. I didn't have bad skin, but I squeezed every little bump and made something big of it. I was wasting my time with it, hurting myself, and I felt uncertain because of the ugly places on my skin that others could see in my face, arms, and legs. In my opinion, it was an addiction I couldn't get rid of. I went to the doctor and the psychologist. I even taped my fingers or had washcloths sewn to my pyjamas.
Via a friend, I got to know Leandra and tried her deep relaxation Hypno. Later I had another Hypno session during a program I did, and there I found out what RTT Therapy was and that it could maybe help me with my scratching addiction. Going back to the reason why I started with this addiction and reprogramming this in my mind sounded new to me and made me hope this was the solution. I started the RTT Therapy with Leandra, and I felt very comfortable with her doing this.
We found that I started scratching so that I had a distraction and didn't have to feel and think anything else. But now that I am older, I don't have to do this anymore and can deal with things and find distractions in other ways. I still listen to the audio sometimes when I feel I need it. Scratching, my skin is not completely gone, but I feel different. At some times, I still fall back into old habits, but at more times, I don't do it anymore, and I don't see it as an addiction anymore. I think Leandra has helped me very much and that during this year, I will make more progress. At the end of the year, I feel that I'm not scratching anymore.
